In 2016, after years of friendship, two successful entrepreneurs — Arman Assadi and Chad Mureta — aligned to create a world-class resource to help people find true fulfillment in their work.

With the brilliance of Beckett Hanan and his years of Jungian psychology research, they began working on a book and assessment to help people identify who they are and what they do best to find meaning in their work. After two grueling years of research and development, the process hit a wall with the editor. Their literary agent reviewed the proposal and said, “guys…you truly have something special here, but this just isn’t going to work. You need to start over.”
It was gut-wrenching. A direct rejection of their dreams, hard work, and tens of thousands of dollars invested. Arman spoke to no one for two days. Chad left town on a solo retreat. After a week of self-deprecation and melancholy, they finally picked themselves up and got back to work. Deep down they knew this mission was far bigger than themselves.
Both Arman and Chad had been deeply immersed in psychology and self-development for years. Yet, as much as they’d learned and gotten results, it was often frustrating and short-lived. Chad knew there had to be a better way, and often envisioned creating a system that would work alongside him and guarantee his success.
He’d tried every type of daily planner and app imaginable but was constantly disappointed by their one-size-fits-all approach and inability to create lasting results. This rejection point caused Chad to revisit the idea of creating a planning system that fused together physical and digital technology.
Then came the major aha — ”why not create a personalized system based on how people are uniquely wired using the years of research they’d already done with the book?!”
This was it, and he immediately knew he needed to convince
Arman that this was the shift they needed.
So off they went on an entrepreneur cruise to disconnect and brainstorm. But before they could even get on the ship, Arman pushed Chad to pitch him on the new idea he’d been teasing about.
So he did — and Arman was instantly sold.
Not because of the idea itself, but because he could sense Chad’s irrefutable truth and it perfectly aligned with his personal life mission and vision. From this day on their true journey began.
Arman was ecstatic and together they immediately began advancing the vision for the company. Not only did Arman see this as a planning system, but an entire mission centered around creating personalized tools to help people evolve. As quoted in an exclusive interview with Forbes:
“We wanted to do more than write a book, or even make a planner. We want to shatter the convention of happiness and success and help people find meaning and fulfillment. The best place to start is where people spend most of their time, at work.”
Arman hypothesized that once people identified their unique ability and found meaning in their work, all the traditional key performance indicators to measure success would skyrocket.
Therefore — success — in the traditional sense,
would be a byproduct of alignment and flow.

disengaged from their work; and an actively disengaged employee costs
their organization $34,000 for every $100,000 of salary (34 percent!).
Both Chad and Arman had experienced that misalignment in their own ways, sometimes to the point of burnout and anxiety. They knew this was their opportunity to shift people from an empty and rewardless obsession with productivity and hustle to true inner alignment. To mastery. To a place of meaning.
With a renewed fire burning deep in their hearts — somewhere out in the Caribbean Sea — EVO was born.
They finally decided to walk around the cruise and share the clarity of their life’s work and what would become the EVO Planner with all the innovators, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders on the ship.
They butchered and stumbled through their pitch every time, and yet, everyone was madly in love with it and exclaimed, “I need that!”
